Q:   What types of businesses will be allowed?

A:   For the most part, there may be any type of business on a commercial parcel as long as it is within Belize law and is in harmony with the development theme. We limit competition.

Q:   Will there be job opportunities on Cerros Sands at La Playa de Cerros?

A:   There are commercial properties available for job opportunities. We are fully cooperative and are really pushing to elevate the economic status of our Belizean hosts. Cerros Sands at La Playa de Cerros commercial elements are intended to provide all the necessary support systems, as well as many commercial opportunities.

Q:   Can I run a bed and breakfast from my dwelling?

A:   Yes, you may run a bed and breakfast providing you purchase your property in a pre-approved and zoned district. You must consider the size limitations for building on a all parcels. Please refer to our Deed restriction documents and architectural guidelines Having a bed and breakfast is a wonderful idea for offsetting your expenses. Q:   Do I need a work permit?

A:   Yes. However Cerros Sands Ltd can provide all the necessary support to get your work permit. Please contact us by email.

Q:   Can I rent or lease my parcel?

A:   You receive fee simple title and you may rent or lease your parcel or dwelling. Many purchasers will be doing this to offset their investment costs or the mortgage payments and operating expenses. Cerros Sands Ltd. may offer to place your property in a rental pool on a shared earnings basis. That leaves all the basic work to a qualified team.

Q:   What is the difference between residential and commercial parcels?

A:   Residential parcel owners may not conduct commercial business from their parcel. These parcels may be used as residences only. They may be rented or leased out for all or part of the year.

Commercial parcels may be used as residences as well as for commercial purposes. Some examples include: eco or dive resort, bed & breakfast, eco-tour operator, market, bar, restaurant, fishing charter, boat rental (kayak, canoe, sailboat, rowboat, etc.), glass bottom boat tours, t-shirt & novelty shop, contractor, tool rental, etc. Please contact us if you are interested in specific business opportunities and/or commercial property

Q:   Can I purchase a commercial parcel and do business and also live there?

A:   Yes, you may conduct business and live on the same commercial parcel.
