Chetumal Quintana Roo, Mexico

Let’s head on over to Chetumal Quintana Roo, Mexico Belize’s next neighboring country. It’s a lot bigger that Corozal Town and if fact boasts a population bigger than Belize. It is the capital of Quintana Roo which is also home to Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum. There are tons to do in Chetumal.  Crossing the Belize border and then the Mexican border requires a passport or Id issued by either immigration side.  As mentioned before, currency changes from Belize and US dollars to Mexican pesos and easy money exchange can be done at the Belize border or right across the border in Santa Elena.  A lot of Belizeans and Expats travel to Chetumal Quintana Roo for various reasons.  One can be for shopping purposes since there are many shopping centers to choose from and sometimes the difference in prices is not much, but there is a wider variety of products.  Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Chedraui, Bodega Aurera; these are the famous shopping centers in Chetumal among a whole lot more.  This is not including all the mini stores you will find on the way there.  The traveling time varies from thirty to forty five minutes depending on your method of transportation.

Of importance is the Medical Facilities in Chetumal. There are numerous to choose from and the quality of care and diversity of services is all there to choose from.

There are buses that are parked and move approximately every hour to go into the town.  There are also a lot of places to eat, countless I must say, especially if you go to the market and also the famous Bahia Boulevard which is the area along the sea with a lot of nice restaurants and beach bars and more.  Making a visit to Chetumal Quintana Roo is a lot of fun, even more if you like popcorn, soda and movies.  That’s right, at Chedraui Shopping Center there is a theatre called Cinepolis with 3D and also 3Dmax with the latest movies.  At that same location, known as Plaza las Americas, there is a Burger King and McDonalds franchise.  This mall is huge; it’s filled with stores and even a bank. Can you imagine?? Liverpool is one of the best stores and with pretty much all name brand products. So much to eat, and stuff to buy but let me inform you that there are certain things that cannot be crossed over to the Belizean side, such as flour, fruits, meats etc., but this is due to Ministry of health and so forth.  Why are you taking so long to get your plans ready, it doesn’t start until you make the first move!  Living at Cerros Sands Waterfront Community is just one of the good things, all the rest is a plus because it’s simply the best!
