The esteemed luxury travel publication Condé Nast Traveler has just joined the growing ranks of premier travel publications to recommend Belize as a must-visit destination in 2019. Condé Nast Traveler gushed about the variety and quality of luxury resorts in Belize and predicted that soon “everyone” will be including photos of Belize on their Instagram feeds.
Condé Nast Traveler had high marks for the variety of outdoor activities in the country as well. Whether it’s scuba diving or snorkeling on the offshore reef (the largest in the Northern Hemisphere) or exploring sacred caves and temples built by the ancient Maya culture thousands of years ago, Belize offers visitors a wealth of options. Other popular activities include fly-fishing, hiking, bird watching, and enjoying a swim in the base of a jungle waterfall.
Condé Nast Traveler wasn’t the only VIP travel publisher to recommend visiting Belize in 2019. Both Lonely Planet and National Geographic also included Belize on their must-visit recommendations for the upcoming year, a clear sign that Belize’s tourism industry is going to experience yet another year of record-setting growth.
The fierce competition between airlines to serve Belize’s growing travel market and recommendations to visit from top-name publications are exciting real estate investors. Belizean law imposes zero restrictions on foreigners buying, selling, or renting property, and vacation rentals have been skyrocketing over the past few years. Indeed, Sun Country Airlines will begin flying to Belize this month from Minneapolis, and Air Canada and Aeromexico have also added new flights to the country, making it easier than ever for visitors to vacation in Belize.
Belize also makes it easy to live in the country as well. Their QRP program allows eligible individuals age 45 and older, along with their family, to establish residency in Belize. The QRP program also includes a slew of tax breaks, including the ability to import personal goods (including vehicles) duty-free.
And one of the finest places to invest or live is Cerros Sands, a true “community in the country” located nine miles south of the Mexican border in Belize. Nestled on the sandy shores of Chetumal Bay, Cerros Sands is a safe, gated community that offers modern comforts in a beautiful and relaxed Caribbean setting. Established by a respected American developer who lives onsite with his family, Cerros Sands has homes, condominium, commercial lots, and waterfront properties starting at just $17,700.
