Because of the rising popularity of travel to Belize, airlines have now added non-stop flights from major cities in North America, making it easier and more affordable than ever for vacationers, retirees, and investors to get to the country.
Below is a list of regularly-scheduled international commercial flights to Belize. Be aware that all international flights land at Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) nine miles outside of Belize City.
American Airlines has the most connections between the United States and Belize. American has a daily flight from Miami (MIA) lasting about two hours, Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) lasting about three and a half hours, Dallas-Ft. Worth (DWF) lasting about three hours, and Los Angeles (LAX) lasting about five hours.
Avianca has a direct flight from San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL) to Belize. The flight takes about 60 minutes.
COPA has a non-stop flight between Panama City, Panama (PTY) and Belize with a flying time of about two and a half hours.
Delta has a non-stop flight from Atlanta Hartsfield (ATL to Belize City with a flight duration of about three hours. Delta also has non-stop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Belize with a flight that lasts about five hours.
Southwest has non-stop service from Houston Hobby (HOU) with a flying time of about two hours. Starting in March 2017, Southwest will have a direct flight between Denver (DEN) and Belize with a flying time of about four hours.
Tropic Air is a domestic carrier in Belize with regular connections throughout the country as well as nearby international destinations. Tropic Air has flights from Cancun (CUN) and Merida (MID) in Mexico with a flight duration of about 90 minutes. They also operate a flight from the island of Roatan in Honduras (RTB) with a flight time of 60 minutes. Tropic Air also has service from San Pedro Sula (SAB) and Flores (FRS) in Guatemala, each flight lasting about 60 minutes.
Maya Island Air
Maya Island Air is another domestic carrier in Belize with regular connections throughout the country.
United has non-stop service from Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Houston (IAH), and Newark (EWR). Flights from Chicago to Belize take about four hours, from Houston it’s approximately two hours, and from Newark approximately six hours.
A Mexican low-cost airline, Interjet operates a 2 hour nonstop flight from Mexico City to Chetumal. Because Chetumal is right across the border with Belize, travelers from Mexico City fly with Interjet flight to access Corozal District in northern Belize.
Starting in October 2016, Westjet will operate non-stop flights from Toronto’s Pearson airport (YYZ) with a flying time of about seven hours.
